EVENT ITINERARY

What to expect on your ride

DAY 1
REGISTRATION
Welcome to Ride the Cape, grab a beer or something to drink, and check in to your luxury tented accommodation at Cherry Glamping. You will receive your Ride The Cape goodie bag filled with a few extra surprises and your tent number during registration. You’re welcome to arrive on Friday between 12:00 and 14:00. Help yourself to the light lunch on offer.
RIDE START
14:30 Today we will start with a 18km leg loosener with rolling hills and beautiful scenery to Paul Cluver.
WINE TASTING
15:00–16:00 You will enjoy a wine tasting at the Paul Cluver waterpoint.
DINNER AND ENTERTAINMENT
18:30 Time to indulge in a delicious paella dish at a long table dinner while we look at what’s in store for the rest of the weekend.
DAY 2
CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST
06:00–07:00 Enjoy a delicious breakfast before you set off on your ride.
RIDE START
07:30 Today we head towards Paul Cluver Trails for a 48km ride presenting breathtaking views of the undulating Elgin Valley filled with vineyards, orchards, and pine forests. Expect a refreshing off-the-beaten-path water point en route.
LUNCH
12:00–14:00 Enjoy a delicious lunch at a Texan style smokehouse serving slow-lovin chicken, beef brisket, buttermilk mash and more!
GIN TASTING
15:30–16:15 Come and enjoy a complimentary craft gin tasting done by Hope Distillery to broaden your taste buds.
DINNER AND ENTERTAINMENT
18:30 Dinner will entail a unique Cape Cuisine-inspired dish. A preview of day 2 and live entertainment will conclude a great day in the Elgin Valley.
DAY 3
CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST
06:00–07:00 Enjoy a delicious breakfast before you set off on your ride.
RIDE START
07:30 It’s your last day out on the trails, so why not soak in the last bit of vineyards on your way for a scenic but not-to-be-underestimated 40 km. Your waterpoint of the day is at The Elgin Railway market
CELEBRATORY LUNCH
12:00–14:00 (May vary) End the day and tour off with a gourmet burger lunch.
